HAZ-DUST I Particulate Monitor

The HAZ-DUST I is ideal as a portable survey tool for particulate monitoring with its simple operation and instantaneous easy to read display of measurements. It is highly sensitive yet lightweight and rugged. Applications include the identification of areas of high levels of respirable dust and evaluating dust generation and suppression.

  • Easy operation and instantaneous readings in mg/m3
  • Two selectable measuring ranges
  • Easy to read digital display
  • Highly sensitive
  • Operates for over 8 hours
  • Built-in battery test facility
  • Optional data logger, supplied with DustComm Pro Software for data downloading, trend analysis and comprehensive reporting of concentration changes over time
  • Optional tripod with adjustable mounting for unattended monitoring

The HAZ-DUST I uses near-forward light scattering to measure dust concentration. As airborne particles enter the instrument they pass through an infra-red light beam and scatter the light. The amount of light that reaches the detector is directly proportional to the aerosol concentration.

HAZ-DUST IV Particulate Monitor

The HAZ-DUST IV displays immediate breathing zone measurements and comprehensive graph reporting of aerosol and dust for occupational hygiene and environmental air investigations. Interchangeable sampling heads enable specific particle fractions to be targeted. An inline 37 mm cassette, located behind the sensor, may be used to collect a concurrent filter sample for gravimetric or chemical analysis.

  • Easy operation and instantaneous, continuous display of TWA, STEL, Minimum, Maximum concentration in mg/m3
  • Sensor mounts directly in the breathing zone for a personal sample
  • Interchangeable sampling heads for Inhalable, Thoracic and Respirable measurements
  • External switch to select between respirable calibration to NIOSH 0600 and 2.75 L/min flow rate (GS-3 Cyclone) or inhalable calibration to NIOSH 0500 and 2 L/min flow rate (IOM Sampler)
  • In-line 37 mm cassette (or optional 25 mm cassette using adaptor) for collecting a concurrent filter sample for gravimetric or chemical analysis
  • Small and lightweight with integral belt clip
  • Operates for over 8 hours using rechargeable NiMH battery
  • Automatic data logging
  • Easy to use DustComm Pro Software for data downloading, trend analysis and comprehensive reporting of concentration changes over time
  • Specifications

HAZ-DUST IV operates on the principle of near-forward light scattering of infrared radiation. As the airborne particles enter the infrared beam, they scatter the light. The amount of light received by the photodetector is directly proportional to the aerosol concentration. Unique signal processing internally compensates for noise and drift. It immediately and continuously measures the concentration of airborne dust particles and displays the result in mg/m3.
