BestChek Asbestos Cassettes

Asbestos has so many attractive properties and has often been used in a variety of forms for construction. If building materials are not properly maintained, asbestos fibres can become airborne creating significant environmental health problems. Proper sampling is key to asbestos measurement and determining airborne asbestos concentrations. Sampling methods are also available to determine asbestos concentrations in settled dust.

BestChek Asbestos Cassettes

The BestChek cassettes meet or exceed NIOSH, OSHA and ASTM standards in count, clearing, conductivity, collection area and construction:

  • Count - Average background fibre count is <4 fibres per 100 fields
  • Clearing - Filter material clears thoroughly to meet method specifications and is suitable for PCM (Phase Contrast Microscopy) analysis
  • Conductivity - Cassette plastic contains over 18% carbon black for proper conductivity as tested using ASTM methods
  • Collection area - Inside diameter varies by only ±5 mm2 for consistent collection area and minimised error
  • Construction - Certified leak-free, cassette parts are manufactured with close tolerances and vacuum and pressure tested for leakage

All preloaded asbestos filters include cellulose supports. The cassettes are quality tested for low asbestos fibre background and supplied with a Certificate of Analysis.
